'Ever Bless' by Reemah [Rymshot Productions] |
Okay so, I was under the impression that the next time I would be dealing with burning Achis Reggae favourite, Reemah, would be when we went back and reviewed her most recent album release, "Breaking News", which she did in 2018 when we were on hiatus (review coming in August, anyway), but much to my delight, but not surprise, the outstanding Cruzan firebreather is remaining active. Brand new today from Reemah is her brand new OUTSTANDING single, 'Ever Bless'. The tune comes in collaboration with previous link, the well-talented and esteemed Dean Pond and Rymshot Productions (who also did 'Don't Want Nothing' with Reemah just last year and that may not have been the first time they've vibed together) (and, if you frequent these pages, you'll also be familiar with for having done works with the likes of Pressure Busspipe (new Pressure album out in two weeks, review coming soon) and Revalation (biggup Revalation, "Flame on! Another life down the drain - GONE!") [BOOM!].
For me, the main attraction to Reemah's music has always been her words. I don't think she's ever likely to get a full credit for it, but when you think of the absolute finest current lyricists that we have in Reggae music, she ranks FULLY amongst them and has from ever since she established herself on her remarkable debut set, "Check Your Words" (now a ridiculous NINE YEARS OLD) (time absolutely flies, it SOARS!). Her music does well have a sonic appeal to it as well, but I always find myself wondering exactly what she will say next and how she will presented. To put it simple: The woman is a genius when it comes to crafting, constructing and presenting her ideas. 'Ever Bless' is no different at all, as we find the artist in a carefree mood, knowing that she's dotted her spiritual I's and crossed her spiritual T's and she is well looked after.
