Surely you didn't think we were done. Last year (though it does not seem like that long ago at all), we told you about "Vizion" which was the latest album from AchisReggae favourite, Cali P, along with ace producer, Teka, for the latter's LowLow Records imprint. The album was a compilation of a pair of EP's from a couple of years prior. I can recall wondering, while reviewing the album why, exactly, hadn't Teka taken (I'm sorry. I just had to) the opportunity to make more of some of the BEAUTIFUL compositions he had made for the project and now he's showing why. He was saving it. "Vizion Remixes" recently dropped and it is precisely what the title says it is, some (not all) (eight of the thirteen by my count) of the tunes of "Vizion" in a remixed form. The results are apparently done by a variety of different builders, most notably (after Teka) is 'Life Lesson' which is placed in the hands of longtime Cali P collaborator, Riga. I'm still working on this one just a bit, but I do have to say that an early favourite is definitely the Dancehall Rulerz remix of 'Crazy'. The track on that one has been somewhat simplified (or has it???), but there is SO MANY wonderful things going on there at times and what results is a delightful composition. One of the standout tracks from "Vizion", 'Rise Up & Shine' is given three different mixes, one of which features the  handiwork of the outstanding Addis Pablo and I did not like it the very first time I heard it, but it is well growing on me these days.

So, if you missed "Vizion" the first time around go ahead and take care of that and then join the rest of us in diving back into it with a very fresh ear (biggup Arif Cooper) (did you catch that???), courtesy of "Vizion Remixes", which is available now.

[Note: Wouldn't at all be surprised to see a Vol. 2 of this someday]
