Happy new year to all of our wonderful readers (all ye of hideous taste who so faithfully come around these parts)! I do promise to return you to your regularly scheduled Reggae programming very soon (also going to attempt to be more active this year), but permit me (or don't. I don't care. Do what you want) one more ridiculous detour - this one in the form of the brand new Real Stink Riddim from DJ Avalanche.
So far, we just have a pair of tunes from the first couple of Soca. The Silver Surfer lays the track to ruins with her very clever 'Nevermind' which is more typical 'stylish' Power Soca from Aza Sefu. Lyons, as always, is having a stellar season thus far and I'm expecting her to go higher at some point. It will be difficult, but she is FAR more than capable.
And then there's this shit. Lyons' mister, Bunji Garlin, picks up and rebuilds everything that he can after his wife destroyed it and then proceeds to absolutely eviscerate the Real Stink Riddim with '110 Overcharge'. This is carnage of a genius kind (biggup Gentleman). Following the missile that was 'Carnival Contract', the Garlin continues his reign of terror for Carnival 2024..... and none of us are safe.
