Okay, going first this week is a tune which certainly isn't obscure AT ALL, but it's definitely gorgeous and it was just endorsed by my Wife (and Me), so we're going with it. Told you last week about my old friend Youstice and he had given us a few different tracks that I'm spreading out and his second piece is the MASSIVE 'Don't You Know' by Isasha. Don't YOU know this tune already? You should, shame shame shame if you don't.
Next we the first suggestion from Allan (from New York via Guyana I think) in a few weeks I believe and I think this may be his first non VI Reggae piece as well. It's Chezidek with the SWEET 'What A Joy'. This tune actually appears on a BIG compilation by the name of "Rasta Legacy" from Vikings on Corner Shop (available digitally right now) (probably on CD too), which featured a very very nice mix of Jamaican artists alongside French and French Caribbean. So you had people like Chezi, Turbulence, Anthony B and Perfect going on the same riddims as Tiwony and Fefe Typical. It was a very very nice release and this was definitely a highlight on it yeah.
And lastly we have one of the very very first participants on this feature, Gustaf from Sweden. If my research is correct (and it almost certainly isn't), this is his first tune since week #17, it's Treklang with 'Wicked Shituation'. Okay, I know what you're thinking - 'Achis! Who the hell is Treklang?' I don't know, but they're a Swedish band from Luleå, which is apparently pretty close to Antartica (you want to give a tune? That's how you do it, I didn't look that up at all, Gustaf gave it all to me) (biggup yourself Gustaf). He is the same person who told us about Raappana, which was back during BT#8 and while this one isn't as infectious and intoxicating as that piece of niceness, what I will tell you to do is listen it once and then wait and then listen it again. Big big tune.
As for myself, again I have an easy week because as Bredz pointed out to me from a little while back, someone had posted this. It's the best new Reggae song I've heard all year, Junior X with 'Cross Me Heart' from Achis Reggae favourite Sherkhan's and Tiger Records' Box Guitar Riddim.

- Hopefully we'll be celebrating Buju's innocence this week. If not, expect one sad ass review of his brand new album "Before The Dawn" on Friday and on Tuesday expect a big write up on a BIG BIG album, "Black Gold" from Duane Stephenson
- Should have a new edition of 'Check It' probably on Wednesday
- And remember to check the wonderful people at UnitedReggae.com yeah. Had some technical problems last week, but everything is good now.
- Gotta big big tune that's stuck in your head? We want it stuck in ours too, so link me at AchisReggae@hotmail.com and let me know what it is. Each and every Sunday we post them up
