What A Beautiful Tune 22!

Tunes! Big tunes, Sunday yeah. Madness going on today, but good times still (having a very good day!) and I hope it's the same for you yeah. This week we have a pseudo-newbie - a vet in rookie's clothing and we have a grizzled veteran and a new veteran same way. But that's just this week, next week - It's your turn, let me know what tunes are standing out for you, keep it obscure and keep it might yeah AchisReggae@hotmail.com. BALANCE - Let's move:

Okay, taking opening honours this week is my buddy Isis, who just told us about that wicked Bounty Killer documentary, "Path To Greatness" . Isis is actually a friend of ours who is away with her new husband in New York, but she'll be back home (presumably with her husband) in Statia in a couple of weeks, so big her up. Anyway, she's a first time participant here, but a good friend, so definitely no regular rookie and she's keeping it up with the Killer, with a HUGE tune and a favourite of many (myself included) (yourself included), 'Who Sen Dem'.

Jah Callax, always keeping up, King of The VI, is up next and as usual he's dipping in the big bag of tricks and this weeks he's drawing for an artist in Ickarus from the Star Lion Family, who certainly doesn't get as much hype as fellow member of the SLF, NiyoRah and Pressure Busspipe, but is still well talented (crazy crazy lyricist) and while we haven't heard much from him as of late, Callax goes back to his 2007 album, "Mind of The Icktionary", which definitely had some holes in it, but this tune, 'Mind Who U Lime Round', wasn't one of them. Biggup Callax everytime.
". . . But trample dem tell dem di Black Woman no give a frig
Di righteous man no care bout what di wicked man did
Di truth, it must reveal and what it is, is what it is
But fi dem, admit dem wrong, dem seh dem heart it too big
You diss Selassie I yah owna grave a wah yuh dig
Yuh bawn as Lion so tell me how you tun pig!"

And lastly is the big man, big new veteran on the scene, Allan from NYC via Guyana (which part of Guyana Alan?) who revisits a very familiar entrant to this feature. It's Midnite with 'Love Right [Live Right]' from the legendary "Ras Mek Peace" album. This was about a week ago (when we went with Ladies' Night) and Allan also mentioned that he was going to check Midnite in concert that same night so I'm sure the show was nice and always biggup Midnite. I've probably become one of their (only) critics here, but the TOP level Midnite material is unlike anything else you can find anywhere and this tune (and everything on that album) definitely qualifies. Allan biggup yourself.

As for me, I usually have something in mind by this point, but nothing really striking this week and definitely want to do something fitting (which means no Soca), but a little bit off the board because that's just my way. So I draw for something I've been listening to for a minute yeah (might tell you about that next week) and something of my favourites, from one of my favourites - It's big big Tiwony with the KNOCKING 'Oupatebizwentousa'. You'll love it and we'll see you next week, unless I find something better to do (unlikely). Big respect to Isis.

{Not writing on Monday AT ALL}
{Reviews this week for Turbulence and . . . something else}
